Best Papers

The current product range recommends 80-200 g/m² paper, with 105-157 g/m² as the preferred evaluation range. Coating, ink coverage, grain direction and spine preparation still affect the result.

Spine Penetration

Milling depth, paper dust, adhesive temperature and glue-film thickness determine whether the molten adhesive reaches the prepared fibers before cooling.

Page Pull

Judge page pull only after controlling paper, notch or milling condition, adhesive amount and cooling time. Record whether failure occurs in the paper, at the interface or inside the adhesive.

Flexibility

A book spine must tolerate opening without becoming too soft in storage. Evaluate repeated opening, low-temperature flex and cover movement on finished books.

Production Window

Use 160-180°C as the starting application range and align open time with line speed, glue application, cover placement and pressing.

Testing

Compare page pull, spine shape, flex, heat storage and aging on books made with the customer's paper and equipment.

Grade 1052 FAQ

Can 1052 be selected from paper weight alone?

No. Paper coating, spine preparation, line speed and glue-film condition must also be evaluated.

Is 1052 a replacement for side glue in every line?

1052 may be evaluated in bookbinding systems, while 1061 is the dedicated side-glue grade in the current range. Confirm the required position and process before testing.
